Szkoła Podstawowa nr 34
w Katowicach im. Mikołaja Kopernika

On February 5th our school hosted the spelling contest for the schools of Katowice. Its topic was: “Polish cities painted with spelling”. All the upstairs classrooms were turned into big cities: Katowice, Warsaw, Toruń and Gdańsk. Beautiful decorations impressed the guests – students and their teachers. Our school was represented by the winners of the school spelling competition: Piotr Matras and Tomasz Szydło. The contest fell into two stages – a spelling test at the gym (very, very difficult!) and spelling games (riddles, diagrams, puzzles etc). At break, while the jury were counting points, the contest members watched a performance by our cheerleaders (prepared by Ms Anna Orkisz) and took part in games and plays led by Ms Anna Rzyman. Then the jury read out the results. There were altogether three Spelling Champions. One of them is Tomasz Szydło, a student of our school. Congratulations!
